OT - need advice on handgun purchase

Black, before you run out an purchase a hand gun make sure you know what you want. What I mean is a safety was a very important feature to me (kids, etc.). Glock's do not have one. Their philosophy is that if you don't pull the trigger then there's the safety feature. On my H&K you can install the safety on either side of the slide. When I pull my cannon from my quick release holster I can disable the safety before its even out of the holster. A compact and big hands is a no no for comfort. I have 1 inch scar from a Glock .40 compact where the slide caught my skin during firing. Its just way to small for my hands so I choked up on it. Comfort first, features second, firing power third.
