Outer Window Belt Molding

hi everyone. Last weekend the drivers side outer window belt molding popped out. I was temporarily able to put back but purchases two new ones. They only came in black. Does anyone know if that was the correct color for a black 86 GT? Most of the trim appears to be a charcoal gray. I just want to make sure everything matches correctly.

They should have been black unless painted by a PO or severely faded to grey.

Ok well that's great news then bc they only seem to sell them in black! I have the car in storage currently an just got the part, otherwise I'd do a side by side comparison. I'm just a stickler for keeping everything as original looking as possible.

It's common for them to fade. Only cars that came with different colormoldings were the 92 and 93 spring time edition convertibles.

You can paint the rest of your trim to match using SEM Trim Black found through Late Model Restoration
