Outnumbered By Idiots

When people start talking like that Racing for pink slips I just go put the top down on my Cabriolet put on my pretentious hat and just Cruise ahead of them as slow as possible

I am in the midst of designing a fender mounted, paint-ball mini-gun, mounted on a gimbals and using an auto-target-tracking system through a hacked set of Google Glasses.

So... If the dude that's talking about pinks is driving a Suburban,,. Weigh your options carefully. :chin

That was an actual cheat code on NASCAR for PlayStation. 200mph plus paintballs = epic bump drafting

...or is it? :chin

Might I mention that there also exists, an individual that freely shares his source code for a similar project. I believe that the dude in the bottom video has done the same.

You're probably right tho. :) I might have mentioned before that I'm kind of a computer junkie. Meh... Nothing will ever come of it. o_O

I'm pretty sure @Jinx might also be interested in something like this. :chin

I wonder how tough it will be to nail car> Hmmmm...

Whelp, I can't be bothered anymore. Why does my car do this? "Run the codes". Nope, can't be bothered I'll just replace the MAF, fuel pump and dist".

No one person of FB knows how to troubleshoot

I just turned off notifications for a post just like that one. Guy tigs on his car with the ecu and battery hooked up and is chasing his tail being hung up on his O2 sensors but won't dump one single code.

Anytime I ever had problems with mine, that's the very first thing i did, dump codes. The problem with obd1 is HALF the freakin time the codes it spits out are bogus. It makes trouble shooting these things a royal pain in the arse, I've followed codes and STILL dumped needless hundreds into mine to get it to behave. That's the problem with 25 year old circuitry... it doesn't behave like it did when it was 6 months old.. which bolsters the point I've always tried to make, but get classified as one of the "idiots." A 25, 30, or even 50 year old carburetor will still keep going strong decades after all of the broken wires and crapped out contacts in an ancient efi system have quit functioning properly. There is a 1961 john deere tractor i use regularly that fires right up first time, everytime. You think obd1 efi is going to do that when it gets that old?

61 jd tractor vs my 89 gt, two wires vs 200? I do get your point through, carb vs efi is a never-ending conversation, if my car came with a carb it would still have a carb, but it didn't so it don't.
You gotta give it to a person that can tune a carb, I can only tuna fish. Yes I'm close to be'n an idiot.

The thing is, people get trashed for converting their 25-30 year old efi cars to carb when the truth is, there truly is a lot more in the system to fail than sensors. Years upon years upon YEARS of heat cycles... with electronics? I knew a guy that had a break in a harness that gave him fits in an old S-10 pickup. It would heat up and open a circuit and die. The only reason he found it was he literally replaced every single component in the system right down to the harness, that being the last part he changed. No codes helped him.. and he spent more fixing it than the truck was worth.

My point is, sometimes the real truth is, fixing antiquated efi isn't as easy as dumping codes and replacing the bad sensor, like a lot of the kids on this site want everyone to believe. Sometimes what you might have... is a fustercluck that really would save time and money to just go ahead and convert to carb.. And I know carbs and efi.. so who is really the idiot?

Not arguing that sometimes it has all there's vagueness of a teething child, but it's a start. The current generations mentality is about as uninformative as the same child. It's broke. Fix it. Last I checked snap on doesn't sell a magic wand or crystal ball. My magic 8 ball has more diagnostic ability at that point. "nope, not at this time"

I work the phones at a friends shop when he gos on vacation, the can you fix it questions drive me nuts. I agree, the youth today, well, nuff said. My grandson was given a car that sat under a tree for three years and the guy told him it just had a oil leak. I know the car, it was a turd four years ago and now its a algee covered turd. I can't make him understand why I'm not going to work on it.
But it does have a carb, I just won't look for it.
Hey boosted, if you know efi and carbs I wanna be an idiot like you!
