Over Heating with AC on

When I'm driving my car with the AC on, it starts to over heat. To the point that when I turn the car off, there's a loud {{{hissing}} sound (like air is escaping) coming from between the water pump and a hose.

Turn the AC off and it drops to normal temp. Any idea as to why this happens?

What should I look for first? Also Radiator fluid is leaking from somewhere. It's a new Radiator and new fan clutch.

Look for the leak. A pressure tester can assist with this.

Does this occur at idle or while at speed?

The condenser puts extra heat into the cooling system so you might find that you simply are overloading the system.

It just started happening. I replaced the clutch fan and now it's over heating. And it happens at idle and at speeds.

Just because the radiator is new doesnt mean its good, if the radiator leaks then you are going to have cooling problems. Then the extra heat from the condenser amplifies your problem.

Wasn't happening before with the shot fan clutch. Will that bad clutch cause damage to the engine itself? If not I'm putting it back on.

After the car reaches operating temp shut it off and spin the fan with you hand should have resistance and not free spin. Also don't forget the obvious, coolant level. Make sure the system is full. Did you say you did or did not put a new radiator in?

I did put in a new radiator.

I'll try the technique you mentioned (thanks for the tip). Radiator fluid is leaking from somewhere, I need to find out from where.
