over heating

:canada: hello, i have a 95 GT 5.0 and i have been having over heating issues
for 3 weeks now but it got reallt bad in the last day or so some of the symptoms are at idle my autometer cobalt gauge reads 219 and my fan kicks in at about 208 and drives at 225-235 but lately the fan is hit or miss some time it turns on some times not at all when i drive it shoots up all the way to 260-270 and the fan motor starts smoking, i recently have,
-raditor flush and cleaning
-changed rad cap
-used coolant additive (suposed to lower coolant temp 15degrees)
-changed the themistat to a 182
i checked the fan wiring harness and the middle plug turns on at about
208 degress

if you have any ideas please share them with me thank you:canada:

Sounds like you need a new fan. Check out this thread. It sounds like you're experiencing the reason for the recall on the fan. I wouldn't drive it until this issue is resolved or you may get to watch your car burn to the ground right in front of you.

hi so i went to my locale parts store to pick
up that fan motor when i got there it was the wrong one
and they could not find one that even had a 3 prong
connector they can only find these 2 wire no connector
ones if some body can help me here it will be much appresheated.

ok guys i went to a different parts store and one of the employees
owned a 94 mustang and had the exact same problem so he hooked
me up with the right fan and told me that the problem i had trying to
find the right one was because my stang is from the USA and the
canadian stangs used different part # i don't know how accurate
he is but he got me the right motor thats all that counts.
PS:car is fine now run at a nice 215-225 thank you all

Kevin - I never would have imagined that problem. I'm glad to hear you got it whipped and thank you for posting what happened - it might help one of our many Canadian friends on this forum. :nice:
