Overheated And Now Not Running

2001 GT intake stuck and throttle would not respond. Car overheated and now does not want to start. When started it is extremely loud around the engine and dies when throttle released. Also OBDII code PO 306 identifies misfire at cylinder 6. any help suggestions appreciated. Had to have it towed and need to get to work on it ASAP.

I don't want to scare you but from the research I have done the most common problem associated with that code seems to be a faulty valve spring or bad valve seat but it could be a vacuum problem. Google the code and you will find quite a bit of information on it. Good luck.

Hmm, maybe the heat caused a valve seat to pop out? That would make a racket and cause the engine to run poorly.

A compression test would give you an idea of what's going on inside before you tear down.

Or a cracked head or head gasket around cylinder 6 which caused the overheating in the first place.
