So I took my car out the other day.. 331 stroker, C-4, yadda, yadda, and I took it out just to wash the car... When I was driving my temp gauge stopped working. I have a 160 stat, and a standard water pump.. It was at least 78 degrees out. While I was sitting at a light, I noticed some smoke coming out of the cowl hood, and boom... Radiator hose popped right off. Why did my car get so hot? Did I possibly do any damage to the motor? Or do you guys think that the tstat just did not open up? Any help would be appreciative. Thanks

I am going to check on the tstat... As far as a flushing, my radiator is probably drained out. Also, I bought an aftermarket electric fan, that I have hooked up to a toggle switch, that I can run, however I do not have a shroud on it. I am wondering, if it is not getting enough cfm to push through. Any thoughts?
