since my mustang dont get driven alot i liek to go out and let it run for about 10 mins just on idle maybe a couple of revs

after about 5 mins the heat gauge its starting to creep up and up.

a elec. fan would help right? if so which one do you think would be best for me. its not like im going to race this car becasue its a v6 so im just looking for something that will keep the car running alittle cooler at a red light ect or just sitting there idling?

thanks stangnet. :SNSign:

lol no....

like today. we took it to get something to eat( me and my dad) about 10 mins from home.. and we got back parked it in the drive way went inside real fast then my dad told me to go move the car out of the way so my mom could pull out bought 2 minutes after we parked it and came inside. maybe not even that. So i start the car and its right at the N or Normal then i put in reverse and pull it out of the driveway and pull back a little bit and put it on the side of the road and sit there waiting for my mom she takes FOREVER to back out of the driveway.has to get her mirror perfect her hair just right then she has to find her sun glasses. so im sitting there for about a min already so i put it in park and give it a quick rev to about 3,500 and im sitting there for another minute or so so i turn the radio on then about a min later my mom pulls out so i put it in drive and pull in the driveway and i happen to look down at my temp gauge and its at the H so im thinking damn so i pull it up and back into my parking space and turn it off. then i came in here and posted this.

i would ask my dad but hes in a bad mood right now with work. has to drive to SC this weekend or something and be there for a week. so im steering clear of him right now.

and it really wasn't really hot here today. maybe about 75 outside when i went to move it for here.

first and foremost.. just check your coolant level. 9 times out of 10 u are just a little low from a leak somewhere... and dont make an excuse unless you actually just checked it.

I'd say flush it 1st. Don't spend $$ if you don't have to

I'd want to know what the coolant temps really are. A gauge that's over 20 years old is not what I'd use.

Grab a real mech temp gauge from the parts store - you dont even have to mount it. Just hook it up for diagnostics so you can see what's really going on.

Good luck.
