So my Autometer temp gauge today reach 250(I know I shouldnt had drove it :D ) Well Anyways I got home since I just went to my bros house real quick. But I opened the hood and the MrGasket radiotor cap with a thermameter was at 140. I have a new Mrgasket T-stat in there fyi. And the water wasnt boiling over as I expected when I popped the hood... What gives?

Its like 3 days old.... Can It go bad?

Might have been a bad one out of the box (or it went bad just that quick). I'd remove it and put it in a pot of water and see what it does. This is equivalent to the conditions it sees in the car but if it doesnt open in a pot of water, it would not open when in the car (the conditions in the cooling system are more stressful).
