It sounds like a blown head gasket. The reason you may not have water in the oil is that the gasket is blown facing the cylinder so the coolant is getting burned up with combustion. A compression check may be in order. If your pulling heads, I would have them redone by a machine shop if they have any kind of mileage on them. You don't want to do this job twice if you don't have to.

Would that account for the crazy amount of pressure getting into my cooling system?

as long as i keep water in the car, it dont overheat and it runs great. wouldnt coolant getting into my cylinder(s) make it run like poo? my mom had a taurus that lost a HG and it ran like absolute crap.

The car dont smoke, the oil is fine, but the coolant keeps turning this nasty dirt brown.

Correct me if im wrong, but if oil is in contact with coolant at some point, if they are mixing, wouldnt it show up in the engine oil too? i only see evidence in the cooling system.

What im really worried about is a cracked head, but i have heard it takes an act of god to crack these iron heads.

Has anyone used that blue devil stuff? reviews are good, and youtube has videos of people using it to fix HG leaks and it worked great.

Somebody out there has to have some answers, you guys are geniuses when it comes to these cars. I have tried searching dozens of times with no helpful threads.

Drill a small hole in 12 o'clock position on the tstat. It will get the rest of the air pockets out.

Once a cooling system gets contaminated with brown rusty water, it's almost impossible to get out.
I too think you still have air in the system.

I'm not sure of your mods, or if you overheated the car, but it's not likely a naturally aspirated stock headed mustangs cracks a head or blows a HG.

would air in the system cause excessive pressure? i mean there is so much pressure in the system it blows coolant out past the cap. and its a brand new rad cap, tried three of them and they all do it.

That extra pressure in the system may be compression from a cylinder due to HG being blown. DO A COMP CHECK.

What exhaust are you running? If you have the stock cats, they could be clogged which would cause the engine to overheat.
