owning a mustang/quick car sucks....

sometimes owning a faster car sucks ass. everytime i add a new part or change something to make it faster it impresses me at first. it seems like a fast car then.

then after about a week i get used to it and it feels slow.

i recently added a crank pulley on my car and it makes 9 psi now i was like WOW this car is starting to haul etc etc. its been about 2 weeks since i got it running good. but now the car feels GUTLESS. its not any slower, its running great as ever but it just feels like a slow turkey. my friends tell me all the time how fast is it, but i am just immune to the sensation. sometimes my dad or a friend will drive it and it will feel faster and impress me but once i drive it, it becomes slow.

the only way to cure this is add more parts and go faster then it becomes more of a money pit

just ranting sorry lol

Thats the fun in owning a fox! , i love spending money and working on my car, through some juice on it and you will be impressed for a while i bet haha

I never got use to the HP. But thats because i drive my stang only a few times a week. I drive a pickup daily so after that you just love the hp when you hop in the stang. Or go give somebody a ride who doesn't get rides in sports cars very much. I love that. "Holy **** slow down!"

hehe my car has far surpassed any "goal" i may have set for it when i bought it.

i am thinking after i get a tweecer and tune the car and paint it i will be done with it.

i doubt that will happen so easy though.

if i had some extra cash i want to start another project. buy a nice clean, good looking LX, try a differenet approach at speed. i would love to fabricate my own turbo setup. with all the expierence and knowledge i ahve gained working on my current car. i could make the next one really awesome and not run into as many problems.

yeah i didnt drive the stang much this week, i had it out thursday and it felt pretty nice but after that it wore off and got slow again.

Just be glad you don't have a turbo. I've got a boost controller staring at me, but I'm at the threshold of my connection rods on my Neon. It's laughing at me.."it's just another 10 psi..what harm could it possibly do?" Boost is far too addictive.

last time i checked this isnt NEON NET.....i dont wanna here what your neon has dose or what not.

i drive an s 10 all week. everytime i get in the stang for the first time during the weekend it feels good. then feels doggy lol

i am heading to the track tomorrow and hoping for some solid 11 sec passes. i ran 12.16 with 6 psi. i'm running 9 psi now and its alot more powerful so i hope she does well. wish me luck!

I go back and forth between a stock civic and the mustang.

It's a night and day difference in power. When I'm without the stang I feel helpless on the road. Never once have I felt that the mustang sucked. The only times I felt she was slow, was if I raced something faster. But there is always more to do in order to go faster and thankfully the market for parts isn't sky high like other models out there.

Bah ... you think that's bad, try driving a 47-horse Metro all week long and then hopping into a T-5 notch with 4.10's. Took me a day and a half just to get used to the differences in the way the clutch works/grabs ... and then, just when I started getting settled into it, Monday rolls around and I'm back to driving the HARBL, where you literally have to floor it just to keep up with traffic, at all.

Difference isn't quite as dramatic between the HARBL and the Pervertible, aside from the fact that the GT's an AOD instead of a T-5 (I sometimes find myself stomping the floor at a phantom clutch pedal), but there's still a huge difference in off-the-line torque. I know the Pervertible is pretty sluggish by most standards - E6 heads + AOD + 'vert = - but still, it's the initial shock of going from a total crawler like the HARBL to something with literally almost four times as many horses and gobs more torque that keeps me happy.

I know exactly what you are talking about. I drive my GF's hyundai elantra almost every day to work and back. So when i do hop in my car its a world of difference! There's nothing like being able to sprint to 100+ mph any place/time you want.

However...if i drive my car all weekend...by the time sunday roles around i think its just as slow as the elantra! WTF.

Its a never ending quest for speed/power. And I'm with you Foxfan...the next item on the list is a turbo...
