Oxidized headlights

my headlight fixtures on my 87 gt are very fogged up and yellow looking... I know i need to get some new ones but does anyone know a way to clean them up some in the meantime?

You can try to look for a solution on Yahoo! or something. Your town also probably has a business that will clear them up and make them white again. Mine does.

I use Brasso metal polish that I got from Wal Mart, its nothing but tarnish so just polish them up like silver, it works great. I got that tip from my local newspaper!

To keep it form coming back, spray some clearcoat over the headlights. I did this on my Escort (I did a lot of experiments on this car) and they never yellowed again.

thanks guys...i got another tip to use toothpaste so either il try that or the stuff you got from wal mart but eventually new headlights are in order.

Ya , here is how I did mine, I used 800 grit then 1500 then a plastic polish kit to finish them off..crystal clear

I wonder how many threads there have been asking how to clean yellow headlights?

you forgot all my 5 lug swap threads

im gonna try the headlight trick tomm....just gotta run tot he parts store for some sand paper first
