Oxygen Sensors ?

I understand there are 2 oxgen sensors for a 1991 LX 5.0 Convertible. Do both sensors have to be replaced at the same time, or can you just replace one?

Are all oxygen sensors at the autoparts stores about the same?

Which oxygen sensor do you consider the best to use for Mustangs?

Thanks

If you're replacing them because of a service interval, then you'd do both.

If one failed or became contaminated prematurely, I see no reason why you cannot replace just it. Just make a notation in your service records so you remember they're staggered and which is which.

Ford or Bosch sensors work well.

Good luck Larry.

Yep, JT is right on...:)

There are two sensors, one on Bank 1 (passenger side) and one on Bank 2 (driver side).

I believe most autoparts stores carry Bosch. I have replaced a few on my past cars and did not have any problems with them. They were running in the $80 range.

7/8" open-end wrench should remove them for you...

You can replace one at a time with no worries if one is malfunctioning.

Most places say to change them every 100,000 miles I believe.
