P0340 Camshaft Position Sensor circuit fault???

Hey guys, I got this code the other day so i cleared it and it hasnt come back yet but what does this code mean? Is there a sensor bad? Or loose wires?? if someone could help i would appreciate it..

Prob just a bad sensor. If it doesn't come back you are all good. If it does just replace the sensor.

What would happen if that sensor is going bad?

without a working cam sensor the car can stall on quick throttle changes... it also can cause he pcm to go into batch fire mode for the injectors and ignition and this is not as efficent.

Well it keeps causing the light to come on. I have a bad miss fire that i thought was the coil packs so i replaced them with MSD units but the miss fire is still there....So could this sensor be causing me to lose power and get a bad miss?

Try replacing the sensor...
