I just got my 67 coupe about 3 weeks ago. It has been sitting in a barn in Iowa for 18 years. I am going to have the body sand blasted and then the underside, inside and engine bay powder coated. I am going to have to gut the entire car so is it worth the 800 bucks to get a painless wiring harness for the car?

I thought it was $500 What happend did prices go up?

if the harness looks fine, dont bother... if its all spliced to hell and ugly, I guess you could replace it. I just installed a EZ21 universal harnes.... if you have basic electrical skills, you cant beat $130

I cant seem to find the price, but last time I researched it I thought it was just over 700 bucks.
Anyone know what the difference is between the painless #10123 - 12 circuit for a 66-76 mustang hot rod and a #20121 - 14 circuit for a 67-68 mustang is?
Im not running anything special.

If you can afford to do all that, $800 seems like a small portion to make an otherwise painfull job painless... Although you may still have some issues. But we can help...:SNSign:

Personally, even if it looks okay, I'd still replace it. They're 40 year old wires which most likely have brittle/cracked insulation. Better safe than sorry.

Oh, and the painless harness for 67/68 mustangs is $569.95 through Mustangs Unlimited. I bought one a while back, but haven't gotten around to putting it in yet (on my list of projects for next year).

I used the EZ wiring from ebay for $130 and you really cant beat it. You do need to use a few plugs from your old harness but its not that difficult to install. hardest part for me was the ignition switch and headlight switch. All wire are labled just like Painless and there not cheap wires either.
