I have a few small paint chips on my hood from
the ice this winter. My car is black and has the
plastic hood (2001). I have some black touch-
up paint from Ford in the little bottle with the brush
applicator, but everytime I use it, it dries blotchy.
Is there a way to apply it so it dries smooth, or is
there a better method for small paint chips? Any
advice welcome. BTW- they are somewhat small
chips.

I can't get it up......ok that didn't sound right.

I hear you about the chips on a black car...big time. I havent found a really good way to hide and mask them. Touch up paint from Ford works good for most cars but black insnt really one of them. Might want to a magnifying glass, trim the brush to being really tiny, and apply extremely small drops of the touch up paint bit by bit until the chip is filled. After that, you may need to use some light abrasive with a foam pad to help buff down any excess and then wax the area as you normally would. It should look better then.

Rjstaaf is the man truly to ask about this. Hopefully he will post in sometime shortly.
