My parents are going to paint my car for me this summer and I was wondering how much some of your guy's paint jobs went for. I dont want a cheap one, I'm thinking about maybe black with few clear coats with a couple of racing stripes. Do you think racing stripes would look nice on a convertable? If not what would you suggest, because I dont want just a plain paint job. By the way I have a 97 mustang white with a black top. If you guys could just tell me how much your paint jobs went for or how much you would think this would cost help me please.

at least 3500. if it were any cheaper i would be skeptical. stock is 5 and 7. that means 5 coats of paint 7 coats of clear. stripes are up to you. i wouldn't. when you get the black just make sure you take care of it the right way.

No one puts on that much paint... 2-3 base 2-3 clear... They do what it takes to make it all blend... I never saw a shop spray that much paint! And dont expect it... 7 coats of clear... RUNS!!! No need to put so much on...

:nice: I'm gonna have to agree here. Black is def one of those colors that you can't go wrong with just take good care of it. Black shows a lot of dirt, scratches and chips. As for the racing strips, I would avoid them. On the 2005+ model, I like strips but older models (unless you are talking about 60's models) I think strips look tacky IMO. As for pricing...I've seen paint jobs go from around $300 all the way up to around $6k. You get what you pay for.
