I had some vandalism done to my car and a total repaint of my car is estimated
to cost $7000.

The car is worth $5000 on the insurance list.

Basically they would total the car out on paint.

So do I drive a messed up ratty looking mystic or
just paint it something else.

all the clear is messed up they threw a bottle of acetone on the car...

my opinion keep it the same color its going to be a sout after car one day and to me that is the best looking color on a mustang. if you really want to keep it that color see if your insurance will work with you like as in pay a portion of the repairs and only paint the panels that need to be painted. so body shops will work with you on payment plans some wont. just my 0.02 sorry that had to happen to your car man

I'd ask them for $5000 and save for the proper paint.

I'd say keep it Mystic - save up if you need to have it done properly. It's a unique paint; if it gets changed to black, well, it's just not gonna be the same IMHO.

YMMV

Changing the color would destroy any potential future value the car might accrue as well as its current value. I think you could argue loss of value here and get the insurance company to step up. Another option would be to sue the responsible party for the difference in cost.

You need to keep it the correct color.

If I knew who did it they'd be in a pine box. It was ricer vandalism they vandalized all the mustangs on the block.

It's going to cost me $9000 to repaint the car, I'm ****ed.
