Paint or Powder coating?

I have been seeing a lot of engines with the lifter valley painted or powder coated? which is it? I just got my block and everything back from the machine shop yesterday and getting ready to go together with it but I read in mustang monthly that the painted lifter valley helps with oil return so I assume it is painted on would really like to know for sure. Thanks

I seriously would not bother. It doesnt help enough be of real benefit and has the possibility of lifting should oil get under it.
