Any paint experts with ideas what I can do to stop this from getting worse and keep moisture out? Long term? Until more permanent shop quality fix. Cracked paint peeling away from metal. Dont care what it looks like as long as its sealed for a while.

It appears to be bondo cracking? Not a lot you can do other than grind it out and start again .Smaller chips i have super glued for a temporary fix

Yeah that's classic Bondo lifting from whatever it was bonded to like rusty metal or cheap primer. Never tried this but if you could force some fiberglass resin under it then clamp it down while it cures? Wipe off any excess resin with reducer? Maybe put some of that resin in a syringe and squeeze as much as you can under there?

That's about what I came up with. Super glue or the resin is probly better. Thanks,

Was barely able to squeeze some superglue underneath and hold down with magnets to dry. Appears to be holding good.

I hope the superglue holds for you but I don't think it will. I think the expansion and contraction differences between the metal and bondo will cause it to release because superglue is so rigid it doesn't like flexing or movement. I don't know but let us know how it does work.

Has been holding ok so far. But my car is always garaged and never gets wet unless I wash it.
