Anyone done this and got pix? I've seen several Lightnings, and it looked great!

I've got a Cobra bumper that needs to be painted. I was thinking when I take it over to my friend that will be painting it I might pick up a Bullitt style fuel door, and have him paint it body color too... Then if the bolts are plated I'll just replace them with some nice stainless ones... It would be subtle and not as noticeble, but that's the kind of thing I like...

You mean paint the billet? Sounds pretty gay to me. Maybe I'm misunderstanding.

Subscribing . . . I think it would look great painted for one reason it's just too big of an item to be stuck on the side of the Mustang and not match the paint.

Yes, I plan on committing a homosexual act by painting aluminum... Leaving the bolts stainless... I'll be sure to inform all the homosexual Lightning owners...

I'll probably go ahead with it... Just was hoping someone might have done it and had pix...

Before I do though, are all the screws real. Not just a screw head stuck on, but replaceble?

There used to be a site that sold them in black and you could get it plain black, with a cobra or the pony. Way back when, I was thinking of getting the plain black one, because I thought that the billet ones were too common. But I guess now that a black one is "gay" I should cancel those plans.
I tried searching for it but I'm not at home with all the stang sites bookmarked and I can't find it. If I remember when I get home I'll look some more. There were pics and I thought it looked nice.

i got that installed a couple of months ago.I think it looks nice the way it is.withought painting it , even if it doesnt match the color of the car , thats what makes it look so good.My car is Dark gray so thats a plus for me.The combination of the color and fuel door is great. But if you really like it painted , then go for it.As i recal , Not all the screws are removable.Only two screws that you can actually pull out.

Thanks guys. I'll probably just go ahead and get one. Then see what I can do about the screws.

My car is DSG too, and I just like being subtle and different... I like for people to think my car looks good, but have to think about it for just a second as to why or what's different...

I may be crazy, but I really like it. Although I have been thinking about just painting the outer ring, and leaving the center & bolts alone...
