I was wanting to know if it is possible to paint the intake manifold without taking it off the engine?

If i cover everything, and I only want to paint the part you can see will it work? In theory I think it would but ill let you people give me the answer!

It'll look about the same as if you applied the same method to plainting the entire car.

I doubt its as simple as that but ill give it a look over and attempt it.

Can I get a guide?

Okay, here's your guide.

Pull the rubber boot off the throttle body.
Carefully disconnect the throttle cable from the bottom of the throttle body.
Use small visegrips or some other clamps to block off the coolant lines going to the EGR spacer and disconnect them.
Remove the electrical connectors from the EGR valve and IACV.
Remove the vacuum lines from the EGR valve and the fittings on the bottom of the upper intake.
Remove the four screws holding the intake plate and set the plate aside.
Remove the six bolts holding the upper intake in place.
Lift the upper plenum off and set it on your work bench.
Prep it and paint it.
Allow paint to dry.
Reinstall in the reverse order you removed it.

For a first timer, the removal and reinstallation will probably take a total of 45 minutes. Those of us that have done it more than once can probably do it in 25 minutes or less.

I painted mine when I had to remove it to replace valve cover gaskets. Didn't really do any prep work just hit it with the high heat rattle can and it came out nice. But I did however touch it up some once it was back on and it was ok, just put covered up some stuff w card board that I didnt want sprayed. I didn't go crazy with it or anything though

Busy weekend ahead of me! Going to paint my gt body kit scarlet red, and paint that intake!
Also replace my fuel pump, fuel filter. New Coolant reservior/over drain ( whatever ) and mount in a new spot so my CAI will fit properly.
