I'm leaving next Wednesday for Navy bootcamp for 8 weeks and I was wanting advice on what I should do to keep it in good condition while I'm gone. It's gonna be parked in a barn at my house and I was just going to put a car cover over it but what should I do to keep the interior fresh and mold free? Also, should I put fuel stabilizer in the tank? Like I said before, I'm only going to be gone for about 2 months, then I'll probably drive it to Pensacola for A-school.

I would put stabilizer in the tank, and cover it.

Also good luck with the Navy, Lots of opportunity there.

Fuel stabilizer and maybe have someone start it and let it run for a few minutes every other week. A good battery charger would be a good idea, too.

use a battery tender , they cost about 20 at sears. cover the car, fuel stabelizer. go to walmart and check out the little cans they make to remove mold and absorb moisture. one of those might help.

Are you positive that you will be able to go home in between boot camp and school? I am in the AF and I know for sure that we are NOT allowed to go home in between. Just something to think about man, and don't just take your recruiter's word for it!

ya man i'm in the Marine Corps and i know i got 10 days in between boot camp and my infantry training but they wouldn't let us take any vehicles to that place more living in squad bays and all that. So i would defiantly say check into that like the guy above said

Have you had your car tuned? Dynoed? What are the numbers? That sounds like a pretty hot setup.

I think the navy is a little more flexable with pov's. When i was in mos school we werent allowed pov's but i think the navy kats were. Of course their are ways around things. But most likely youll only have liberty on the weekends. Dont expect to hop in your car and drive to work every day. It just doesnt work that way. Expect formations and marching for the next 6 to 12 months of your career depending on your mos. Just my .02 i would look into a reliable fried to watch over your car till you get to your pds.

Thanks for everyones input!

I'm going to be a Cryptologic Technician if that makes any difference haha.

It made 320 hp and 311 tq with shorty headers and a catted x pipe in 102 degree heat.

So your gonna be learning about signals. Like radar and guided missiles? Recording jammimg and altering. Thats some pretty fancy stuff. Youll probably need a security clearence. I needed one and im a stinger gunner. But anyway goodluck. And be sure to ask your recruiter how long your schooling will be. Remember he's supposed to give you all the info u need. If he doesnt then sign wih someone else.
