Has anyone installed a pair of these on a pre 99? I have been looking at doing the PI headswap and I figure If I'm gonna do it, I might as well go big. The price isn't half bad either (1400 for stage II) I can get the swap kit for 110 and PI Intake for 190. So I want to know what these bad boys can do. I checked the sight and they don't say anything about hp or tq. I also sent them an e-mail but have not heard anything back. I know SOMEONE has to have used these.

Their heads have been a touchy subject of late. Some people who have read the articles on them seem confused on why they only flow certain numbers and are lower than others at a higher CFM. Others have good things to say.

Im going with Fox Lake stage 2 heads.

From what I've heard, their quality can't compare to heads you get from Fox Lake, Steen, or Tim.

And higher flow numbers doesn't always mean more power.

Hmmmm...

Towards the end of the thread alot of people are giving Patriot props. I think I just might stick with them. I noticed on project ICE BOX, they are using differant valve covers. Is this becuase the heads won't fit under the stockers, or is their some sort of benefit?
Maybe it's just a BLING factor

I was wondering about that as well, but I think there are enough places that are "smog friendly". As long as I don't go with headers and keep some cats I'm hoping I'll pass. If not, well......I'm trying not to think about that.

I can't say much on the subject other than I was at the Dallas Mustang open house back in the fall and there was a guy from Patriot Performance there with a demo set of their heads. The guy they had there was a Chevy guy and did not know much about the technical aspects of the heads, but I did talk to him for a bit anyway. They are based out of the Birmingham, Alabama, Patriot performance is apparently a spin off business of an engine rebuilding shop that has been in business for at least 15 years, they use all new heads and work them on CNC machines. I will not comment much on the demo heads as they were there for show, and who knows how representative they are of production units, I will say that it was very visible where the stock cylinders had cast surfaces vs. the machined surfaces on the cylinders that had been worked.

I live down the road from Alabama Cylinder Heads, the makers of Patriot heads. I went and looked at their operation and talked to some of the tecs. The operation is absolutely 1st rate and the product is a work of art, they have like 6 or 7 CNC Machines. If I stay natural and get heads they will be Patriot Heads from Alabama Cylinder Heads.

I hope the quality on the Mustang heads are better then the LS-1 heads. I hang out with a bunch of F-body guys who tried to go with these heads. I guess they went with three sets of heads on one car before they could even install a set. The valve seats were horrible and they had a bunch of other problems.
