patriot performance heads?

if they are anything like the modular heads port work is fine but the seals guides springs seats and retainers are complete junk...

I've been thinking about them as well. But as stated above, I've heard the components are not that hot. If you look at the bare heads, they are only a few hundred dollars cheaper. When I did my GT40's, I had $200 in springs, retainers, seals and locks. That doesn't say much for the guides or valves. I am going to keep my eyes open for a used set so I can build them as I want. Originally I wrote them off and didn't consider them, but a local speed shop guy here, who has built some pretty awsome cars, was commenting on them. His opinion was that they are the best budget head out there right now (compared to E-Streets and ProComp, etc.). Of course, if funds allow I will go straight for the AFR's.

Ive got another question...

I love the look of the 94/95 f150 intake setup does anyone know what all would have to be done to make it work such as fuel rails and such? i would prob use edelbrock part # 3848 and it would look something like this:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/94-95-FORD-...Parts_Accessories&hash=item27c5a68fda&vxp=mtr

just curious I'm only looking for 350-375whp as a goal and I could easily port it myself I've done plenty for hyundais and hondas.

If you like valve train misalignment and you don't mind burning oil, by all means get a set.

I've seen them side by side with other heads, night and day difference. If AFR's were done by picaso, patriots and pro comps were done by a pre schooler with finger paint.

To get them right, you will spend more than you would have if you just bought twisted wedges to begin with, if you take them to a machine shop, expect a bill that exceeds $250.

Twisted wedges are on sale from time to time for $999.

The heads are the most important ingredient in a setup, save up longer and just buy better ones to begin with.
