Patriot tri-y fitment problem (rubs on shock tower)

do you have a monte carlo bar by any chance? One major reason for header fitment issues has to due with shock tower sag. You need 40 inches between the mounting points and if you have less than this, tower sag may be a factor and a monte carlo bar can help spread the shock towers a wee bit.

I have a monte carlo bar that I have not been able to install due to the bolt wholes being slightly off. However, the bar does fit between the fenders with just the right about of room. It appeared that I could tweak the front end enough w/ jacks to make it fit but figured that may throw off alignment and what not. I will mearsure it next time I get a chance.

Sacramento mustang has mount brackets and poly mounts for $225 - anyone have experience w/ these?

jack up the front in the center (theres a crossmember under there). that wil spread it out. slap the bar in, may need a rubber hammer but it will go!

i jacked the car up from the crossmember and let it sit on 2 jackstands there overnite. in the morning the bar slid in perfectly. couple taps with the hammer and it sat nicely.

Hey tommy, did you put the jackstands under the crossmember or the frame rails? Did you have to drill another hole on each side? Mine bar has two bolt holes for each side but only one bolt hole lines up with the shock tower bolt. 68's might be different though.

to to put a jack (1) under the center of the crossmember so the sides wil sag down. i had to drill one more hole on each side as well.

What kind of bolts did you use then? Just order two shock tower shield ones or go to the hardware store? i'd like the bolts to look the same.
