Just bought an 89LX that has an old Paxton SN93 setup on it. I was wondering if a there is any "economical" newer supercharger (like a novi 100o or vortech) that can use the existing SN93 brackets. I don't want to spend alot of money (I see a used NOVI 1000 for $600 on ebay right now) but don't think I want to keep this SN93 since their reliability seems not to be the greatest and I don't feel like investing in an oil cooler and impeller just to get a hot 8 pounds of boost. I just want to play around with a supercharger until I can complete my turbo setup.
Those old SN series blowers weren't good for much more than 5-6psi even new. Neat for the early '90's, but nothing compared to what's available now a days.How much boost were you getting from your sn93? I'm getting only 3lbs on mine. Am I short on my setup?
