PCV Hoses

Does anyone know the purpose of the pcv having 2 connections on the upper intake to draw vacuum? I have the bottom one on the plenum capped off and am pulling vacuum through pcv via the one on the rear. Are there any benefits to the 2 hoses tee'd together factory approach?

According to the Ford vacuum diagram there is a single line from the intake to the PCV. I can see no reason to have two lines from the same source.

This came up on Corral not long ago. The original design has two connections to provide more vacuum at different rpms by sourcing it from two points on the intake.

I don't think that's physically possible. That's saying there is a vacuum differential within the intake. And even if it were true the differential between the two would be equalized by virtue of the common connection at the tee to the PCV.

It could conceivably spread out the oil flow to more cylinders in a high mile and tired engine. Highly doubt thats the design reason though.

That's a simplified explanation based on what I read. I don't truly understand it, mainly because it's not worth the time to understand it. You can look up the thread on Corral if you want to if you want the original answer.
