Had the hood open, noticed a ticking coming from the passenger side valve cover. It's in the very back, there's a 3/8 hose, I believe it's the PCV valve, but I'm not absolutely sure. Anyhow, I put my hand on it and you can feel the tick right there. Are these things notorious for ticking? How easy is it to replace. Thanks in advance.

Never heard of a PCV ticking, it does rattle when new. Maybe you have intermittent vacuum that is causing the rattle, shaking the little ball in there that stops any liquid from going into the valve covers.
Is it hooked into the base of the carb?

It actually stops a backfire from going into the valve cover. Maybe the spring is weak or the PCV is partially clogged on one side causing the plunger to wobble?
