PCV valve issues

Hello everyone:

I bought a pcv valve from the Dealer for my 2003 GT (36,000 miles). He said there are 2 options, a heated PCV and a standard. I bought the standard because it is about 1/4 the price. I assumed they were interchangable. I went home to change it and the outlet size is much smaller that the Heated PCV.

Is there another Standard PCV available that has the same outlet size as the heated valve? (Part Numbers would be helpfull)

or do I need to pony up and buy a $40.00 PCV Valve?

Also, there is a plug in connector for the heated valve. If I use a standard valve what should I do with that wire?

The standard valve is about $9.00 from the dealer.

Are you talking about the heated valve?

Is there a valve that is interchangable? Is there any advantage to the heated valve? (I'm in socal and it never gets below 40)

According to what I have heard the two (heated and non-heated) are interchangeable...

Could you describe your fitment issue in more detail? Maybe some pics...

The heated PCV was made for our Canadian friends...

I'm at work now so no pic's... Later. I will also get part numbers once I figure this out.

The tube on the existing valve is about 1/2" diameter... the replacement valve output diameter is much smaller (maybe about 1/4").

Oh..Still, why would you want the air coming into your intake any hotter?

I believe the heat is to keep the valve from sticking in extreme cold conditions.

I may have been given the wrong valve....

I just asked my wife to look at the new valve and it is not threaded. Back to the parts counter I go....

Part Number

Ok. The part number they gave me is EV-98-B or D9ZZ-6A666-A. It is called PCV Valve W.A.P. What is the correct part number? The guys at the parts counter aren't exactly helpfull.
