PCV Valve on aftermarket valve covers

This question has been bothing me a while now and maybe someone can help me out. I've got the 4bbl factory carb on my 289 and some aftermarket valve covers from Mustangs Unlimited. These aluminum finned valve covers are angled towards the fenderwells more than the stock ones so I had to get an angled PCV valve to go on the passenger side one so the hose wouldn't kink up. I can't seem to get a hose that is thick enough to not suck flat when then engine is running and I think it is what has made my car sputter if you accelerate hard from a stop. Then again the PCV valve may not be into the valve cover tight enough either. Would capping off this hose do anything negitive? I don't know if it would help or not but I'm curious of this is the reason I have never gotten my carb to tune anywhere nearly right and I've had mechanics try too. Any advice? Thanks, later <><

Ok, the bent hose might work, I didn't know they made a hose specifically for that. The 90 degree valve is what I put in my valve cover so maybe if I get a pre-bent hose it will help, but the grommet that came with the valve covers really doesnt fit in there so well. Meaning if I pull on it a little it will pop right out. Maybe I'll pull it out and coat it with RTV sealant and put it back in. I'll get that PCV hose and see if that helps too. Thanks for the info.
