PCV Valve question?(2002 GT)

Thanks again for the knowledge you have added to this thread. :nonono:

I don't mind if you dissagree but atleast back it up with something useful.
Do you own research, its not the thread topic. If someone is going to suggest blocking PCV or using breathers I am going to suggest othewise. If you want schooled further I suggest Google or a new thread.

I've never heard of removing the valve cover to remove the PCV valve. They unscrew, or pull straight out.

I would clean your IAC out and see if that helps, although since you said wandering idle, and not stalling, I would look for a cut vac hose, or a TPS problem.

I have the pull out type, but I have also change them on some cars that you turned it 90 degrees to unlock it then pull it out.

The only thing I can think of is that the metal clip he was talking about was actually the locking mechanism that I was describing. I could see how it would be confusing if you didn't know you only you had to turn it to unlock it.

Yeah, you're probably right. Damn that would suck to go through all that and find out that a 90* turn would have been all you needed to take the PCV out :(

I think Ill stick with the stock system. It just started this idle problem. So Ill clean out the IAC first since thats free. Then move on from there. Thanks for all the input guys, I actually learned a few things from this thread.

I'm glad you see through the bickering.... I didn't suggest you do anything to you car, did I?? No. I did not. I told you MY 2002 GT PCV wasn't a pull out type and that I had to pull the cam cover to remove it!!! No 90 degree turn no nothing would remove it topside !!! There was a metal clip holding it in place that would not alow removal of the PCV, Now, I race my GT so proper emmission controls are not of a concern to me. That is why I pulled the PCV, not to replace it but to delete it. Sorry, I though seeing a pic would of helped .. Anyway, clean the IAC, clean whatever. PM me if you still need help without 20 opinions on how to fix a idle problem.:nice: I think jstreet0204 could be of help too!

I for one am a big supporter of deleting the PCV as all it does is clog-up the intake trac. now my cars not a D/D anymore but what I did was convert mine to a E-vac style, so now all the crankcase vapors are sucked-out thru the exhaust and not into the intake, again mines not a street car. what I did was deleted the EGR stuff but left a small section of the EGR tube in the header. I have a screw on breather on the rightside cam cover and on the leftside cover that nipple goes to a rubber hose, then a 1 way check valve, another hose and then to the shorten EGR tube. air enters the breather on the rightside and vapors are pushed out the driverside elbow and sucked out wth the exhaust, again mine is a drag only car and I do not recommend this to all.........but.......

my 95 gt is bogging out

when im hitting the gas full throttle i hear kinda like misfire after 4,000 rpm's and it feels so slow, i did the cap and rotor,my iac valve was replace for a high idle, fuel filter somebody told me it could be the ignition module or ignition coil i bought the car a month ago and this problem is killing me and the maf sensor was replaced that wasd throwing a code,,,, the car is not throwing any codes right now but it is choking at highway speed after 4,000 rpm.s why is this

It's good you did a search but you have a 95 and this is modular tech. Try your question the 94/95 section and I'm sure you will get some advise.
