pcv valve??

by chance would that be an inline valve directly behind the alternator right about the distributor? because i have a valve that is inline with a hose that comes from the upper intake down behind the alternator and down below the lower intake into the block. the valve is about the size of my thumb. if im completely wrong, please correct me cause i as well need to locate the pcv valve. (my vehicle is also an 84 svo)

correctly me if im wrong on this as well, if my pcv valve is faulty can it not increase the rpms by causing a vaccum leak or restricting vaccum pressure? because my svo idles at 2k and i have checked for visible vaccum leak and could not see any and thought that my pcv valve could be causing my problem. now i cant fully rule out the vaccum leak just yet but i want to check the pcv (replace it) just so i can rule that out and continue the search. please help im lost!!! thanks for all the help so far!!
