Pedal assembly swap (removing stud)

Ok guys, I'm working on my swap from auto - T45 and the pedal assembly is giving me a headache. The auto assembly had 4 studs that all went through the firewall into the car.. the manual assembly has one stud that is supposed to go through the firewall the other way.

How the heck do I remove this stud from the assembly?? I've tried a hammer and a vice.
