as of right now the pedals in my 68 manual mustang are losing there grip..

i was thinking of putting covers(metal ones) on them but not sure if any will fit

will regular covers be a problem?(like ones from pepboys?)

or should i keep it original and get new covers(rubber)? if so where from?

I'm sure the specialty Mustang places have those covers.

I once needed only the clutch cover and looked at those at the parts stores. They looked kind of cheesy. I called an old Ford dealership and what do you know, they had an original clutch pedal cover still in the original faded plastic bag with the Ford label on it for a few bucks. The parts guy said they had that cover on the shelf for decades but never threw it out. :nice:

Here's what I put on mine, they're a basic ricer pedal cover. But I drilled and tapped my pedals when I installed them. They come with a slip over type bracket that is sure to ruin your shoes and slip at an inopportune moment.

This guy over on VMF used late model pedal covers - http://forums.vintage-mustang.com/sh...Pedal/#1591746 - with a little modification. He used the automatic brake pedal covers for the brake and clutch covers. I think it came out great.
