alright, just got done doing my afr and tfs cam swap on my 95 cobra. i have a very loud valvetrain noise. i have a shim kit, but i don't think i need shims, i think i need longer pushrods or a shorter rocker bolt. anyone have similar problems? or do i need shims cause my rockers are too tight and bleeding down the lifters. i did not check my rockers when i put them on(shame on me) and i did put new lifters in. i have run the car for a while now and the noise has not changed.

You need to just finger tighten the bolts until the slack is gone. Then use a torque wrench set at 18 ft-lbs. You should be able to put at least one half of a round on the bolt before the wrench clicks off, but no more than one full round. If it takes less than one half of round you must use longer pushrods. If it takes more than one full round you need to use the shims.

On a side note you may have to run the engine 10-15 mins before the clacking stops.
