People in parking lots

this is one of the reasons why i don't shop at wal mart. if i do go there i park by the auto center and i'm usually running in to get oil and filters,,, thats it

The key to parking in parking lot is: (I do this religiously)

1) Park in the back of the lot and make sure it is next to a light pole. The reason for this is people usually don't try to drive through a parking lot by light poles.

2) Stay far away from cart returns

3) Look at the gradient of the parking lot and make sure you park on the crest or highest area of the lot. You do this so nothing can roll down hill at you.

And this is the reason everyone else drives, because they can't stand waiting for me to park. Oh and they hate walking.

I try to avoid Walmart whenever possible and do Target instead. Walmart does have great prices on things like 5 quart jugs of oil and Motorcraft filters though so once in awhile I do end up there.

I'm the guy that parks in the back of the lot next as close to the cement divider as i can get. Rain or shine, I'd rather walk an extra minute than have someone mess up one of my rides.

I do everything I can to avoid busy parking lots in my car. Can't see around corners, people drive too fast through them, shopping carts laying around loose and not in their stations...people on cell phones, texting..etc. I only take my truck to most parking lots.

I just shop when there arent that many people there. Makes the whole "shopping experience" a little less chaotic. Then park next to an island or curb so theres less chance of being hit. Then again the side of my car still has little dimples riddled on both sides from people opening their doors.

I used to work at a walmart while I was away for school, and you wouldnt believe some of the idiotic things people do. I sat there and watched someone with a brand new escalade purposefully use their front bumber to push a cart corrale out of the parking spot they wanted!! The craziest part about it was.... there were open parking spots in the area they could have used instead. Oh well.

Another time I was helping the cart runner and was pushing a nice size line of carts toward the building, when this lady shoots around the corner and squeels her brakes almost ramming me and the carts over. Then yells at me to get out of her way and shoots me the finger . I just smiled and took my sweet long time pushing the carts past her SUV.

Before getting out of our van at a local grocery store, some old guy getting in his Mercedes (or maybe a BMW, somekind of nice car) bumped our van with his door hard enough to rock the van and then just sat there and stared straight ahead like he didn't do a thing. So when we go out of our van, I returned the favor and he still just sat there, completely oblivious!

'87Stangman, you should buff the rest of the car and see if that evens it out between the bumper.

My Mustang first got hit in my school parking lot. Some stupid cheerleader hit it, and i don't even know how. I always forget my car is compact so i'm always super far into my parking space. So i had 3 feet left of parking space behind my car...and somehow she still managed to hit it. She did the right thing by leaving the name and number, but her parents were pricks. When i called for the check, they said they'd send it to us instead of taking it through insurance. Well they never sent the check, and i lost the note cancelling all proof that she hit my car. The things you learn as a 16 year old haha.

On a side note I hate how people just can't walk into the *$(# store. They will drive around for hours trying to find a spot close enough. Annoys the hell out of me. I was in Washington and saw this lady. She parked 3 spaces away from the front door. 3 SPACES! She got out and started to walk towards the store. Suddenly she noticed that the 1st space was open. SO SHE RAN BACK TO HER CAR, GOT IN, AND MOVED IT TWO SPACES CLOSER. I couldn't believe my eyes. She probably walked twice as far and took an extra 10 minutes doing this.

Once in a while i find i'm not alone, but the people who park next to me are respectful always parking diagonally across from me. Usually it's some nice BMW or benz or something. You know when you see cars like that in the back they will be careful, but i still go by the 1 space buffer rule

I agree, but I try to park next to the nicer cars cause they think they are special!

You should buy something cheap and crappy for a couple hundred bucks just for that.

I bought this old 88 F150 for $250 just for hauling parts and stuff around in, and found that it's faded and peeling paint and cheap purchase price makes it a prime candidate for the dreaded Wal-Mart trips.

I can even park it reasonably close to the store in amongst the rest of the "regular" cars, something I would never ever ever do with any of my Mustangs.

Yup! Thats what I use my S-10 for.
