i was wondering what the power increase would be with a set of aftermarket cams on a 2000 gt? is it worth the 550 to buy them for the increase or just better to put money elsewhere

Cams are a great investment.

Which brand/stage were you looking to get? That would help determine the gains you could expect. Also, if you are planning on getting a blower/turbo in the future, you may want to hold off on N/A cams.

well i have 2000 to spend on my car... its allready got 3.73, mgw shifter, mobil one syn all around, a k@n cai and flowmaster cat back., and thats pretty much it, i allready did all the sight shopping like rims, tires, gauges, and all that stuff. just wasnt real sure what kind of go fast stuff to buy for my fomoco, i looked at other threads and searches and i get alot of conflicting ideas... and this stuff has to be blower friendly as thats the next step after the bolt on process is done.

Go to Modular Power House. They have custom blower grind cams to maximise the efficiency.
