Performance Distributors Fire Power Ignition Kit Worth It

I have the kit on both my 94 Cobra clone and my 95 GT. How much of a difference you notice depends on the condition your ignition system is in now. On one that's in good shape, you may not feel much. What I mainly noticed is that the engine now pulls hard all the way up to redline. With the stock parts, acceleration tapers off a bit as you get in the higher RPM's. That's my experience, anyway. I have never put the cars on a dyno, so I can't say exactly what I gained. But IMO, the kit was well worth it. If you're looking to save money, I would buy at minimum the Screamin' Demon coil. I noticed the biggest boost with that one part alone.

Chythar - I am going to order once I get back from Cancun so that the parts are not sitting outside my house or at a UPS location. What did you gap your plugs at for the kit because I saw in Performance Distributors that you can gap all the way to .060 I believe? Also, do you have any tips for the install? Is it as straight forward as it looks?

It is completely straightforward/ To replace the TFI you will need a deep socket 7/32, I believe. You can pick up a "Ford TFI tool", which is the same thing. I did gap my spark plugs at .060. I could swear the engine was a bit more responsive afterwards, but that may be wishful thinking. As for spark plugs, stock autolites are fine. I've had trouble with iridium and other fancier plugs.

Installed the same kit 5 yrs ago... No complaints here. I was looking to upgrade the system same as you...

Order the billet wire looms while your at it... you wont find much to hold the wires..
