I've been planning aq T-5 conversion on my 67 from the old C4. I'm loooking for a good shop to get it done. My mechanic won't do it because he would loose a lot of money because he charges me so little, and I've checked AAmco but they will not let me buy the parts, they have to buy the parts themselves. anyone know a shop that is not too expensive (you get what you pay for) that you would recommend for the work. And please don't say the mustang shoppe, I won't go there.

If you want a second choice try Greg Gossett at Total Performance in Santee. Very nice and very competent. (619-562-9894)

Can you also post how much this work will cost you. I might get something like this done on my car.

Thanks,

Jun

I took your advice and went to DPR, Greg has a beautiful 67 fastback that I had to change my shorts after seeing the T-82 he has installed in it. Anyway I am doing some other work so I'm not sure the transmission work alone, I recommend calling them. I can't wait to get my car back with the new tranny, this is going to be so cool

finished with my sex change

I know that title sounds bad. I got the T-5 installed and I'm loving it. Not only did they rush it to get it done for a party I was having. It runs great. I originally planned on spending $4000 give or take some, and the price they quoted was the price it turned out to be. It didn't add up to $4000, it was a significant amount cheaper and I can't be happier with the work they did or them as mechanics. Seriously, they are the first mechanics to go over my car with me and were very patient with my questions. Totally not their fault but this last week I had an electrical fire under my hood and shawn came over on his day off and spent 40 minutes checking it out and making sure it was 100% ok to drive, these guys will be getting all my business from now on. if anyone wants work done, go to them, I have noticed they are getting busier and busier as time goes on.
