i have a set of edel. performer alum heads that im thinking about using for a stroker build. would these heads be sufficient in giving me the performance i need outta them? P & P may be an option to get a lil more from these heads. if not, should i save up some bones and get afr 185 or trickflow.

i agree with the above statement. those heads are a little dated but they can still make great power and if you already have them use them. and as you mentioned get them babies ported and polished and a littel valve work and they will be every bit as good as 185's. and i also disagree with 302 parts make 302 power. yea gt40 heads a re CRAP thats whyt everyone wants them. cheap power.... and when they are worked over they have serious potential. especially in a forced induction application.

The flow difference between the 1.9 and 2.02 is very small, but it only helps you even more.

I'd go with an Edelbrock intake to match, maybe try a RPM II. It may need to milled (machined) to get it to match up with the ports. Maybe a quick call to Edelbrock (long wait usually) can give you a good match.
