Alright who here has had experience with photo radar, those with Beaverton perfered. I believe I may have been nailed.

A slow @$$ civic was in front of me, I changed lanes to pass him, increased speed. Then as I passed him to get into the lane he was in, I noticed the photo radar van. I wasn't paying attention to my speed, I just know I was in 3rd gear getting ready to go into 4th and it was in a 45MPH zone.

There is a photoradar van that is ALWAYS camped out near Rasumussen, the BMW dealership in Beaverton. Not sure if that's where you were at or not. I bought my Vette from there, and EVERY time I went back and forth to that dealer it was there. The salesman specifically told me to keep my speed down because of that.

On a side note, I feel for you. I got busted for speeding in Beaverton(not by photoradar van) back in October, and am now losing my license for 4months because of the pricks back in IA. Nevermind that I had a clean record other than this. Nearly lost my career from that one speeding ticket, and I can't drive again till late July.

Anyway, hopefully it wasn't what you thought it was. If it was, good luck.

It's on Walker Road going towards 185th. I ended up turning around to confirm it was a photo radar van, because I did not see one of the LED screens that show you how fast your going. I only saw a sign that said something to the effect of "Photo radar in testing".

Funny you mention that... I received a speeding ticket from a photo radar shot from a van that was performing "testing". Apparently the van in test mode said I was going 41 in a 30 when my speedometer never went above 34-35mph. I know that my calibrations are correct and my car is also 100% stock except for some minor visual stuff.

I didn't bother to try and contest the ticket only because I would have lost and ended up paying the full fine instead of getting it lowered due to it being my first ever traffic citation. I think photo radar is BS and so does the Washington County Sheriff that I was BSing with at the Bassett Auto get together last summer. It's definitely a flawed system but an easy revenue generator for the city so I don't expect it to be going away any time soon.

That sucks.

Did they just mail you the citation and or did you have to make a court appearence?

both. but i took the ticket to the clerks desk, plead guilty, and got it lowered before going to see the judge. might have gotten it reduced more if i would have gone face to face, but i just wanted to get the f out of there because i worked graveyard at the time and i was dead tired.

here in auburn we have a couple speed radars, and "PHOTO SAFE"

Photo safe is for people that are crossing the intersection on a red light. Includes those NOT stopping completely when making a right hand turn. (something many people do).

Takes a picture of the car and the license plate and sends the registered owner a 171 dollar ticket.

Its some real BS.
