whats up guys? Im a rookie to the photoshop world so i thought i would get my feet wet by trying to do a purge and burnout with smoke effect. Mainly cause i wanted to see what the purge would look like in my scoop.....

what do ya think?

ummm im gonna take that as a sarcastic remark.....OBVIOUSLY i CLEARLY stated that i was a rookie with photoshop. My goal was to get an idea of what it would look like so keep your smart comments to yourself....

If you can do better, then S*it do it yourself. But i think it gives a relatively good idea of what it will look like....atleast a lot better than just imagining it in my head....

You specifically asked what I thought, so I told you. Don't want realistic comments, don't post things online.

ok maybe i need to spell things out for you....I did not post to get a grade on my photoshop abilities. Instead of asking someone over in the other forum to do it, i simply tried to do it myself.

I guess my real question is How do you think the purge looks coming out of the hood? Again im not asking for remarks on the picture...obviously it wont look like that. Im sorry you were too caught up in being negative that you couldnlt give an opinion on what mattered most....

and you are supposed to be a fellow stanger......

oh and this is the site im learning off of, so blame it on them if u think it sucks...i dont think mine is too far off from theres.....

so the idea of a purge coming out of the scoop on the hood will look like a flash light? hmmm i dont know about that one. So i guess the guy who had the purge out of the cobra on the side will look like it has a flash light in its mouth.....or the guy with the purge in front by the horse, he MUST have a flashlight right behind his horse emblem. Or anyone does everyone with purge just look like they turn on a flash light?

I mean lets be honest, in my picture it does look like the light from a flash light. But how realistic can u get with a purge? My point was to see what the purge will look like not to show off my photoshop skills.

sorry for not making that clear enough in the beginning

I think your purge would go up, not directly out or slightly down. It's venting gas, so it will rise. If you're going to install a purge in that hood scoop, I'd be careful that it doesn't spray all over your hood. Also, will the purge obscure visability? Maybe it would be better mounted on either side of your hood, not on the scoop.

obscure visibility? Man, im not gonna be driving around purging...hahaha

And you are acting like the nitrous/air combo is at a low pressure and will slowly come out. Its comin out at an extremly high pressure and so yes....it will blow STRAIGHT forward. i would mount it on a slant facings more upwards to minimize paint contact.

these didn't rise right away......

and the best example...

Right, it comes out quickly. See how all those purges are going away from the body? I don't know exactly how to explain it... but do you really want a purge blasting out right in front of you? I think it's a cool idea but maybe going off to the side or something.

only one way to find out....i was also thinkin about buying one of those pieces that make it go in a V direction. That will send it more to the sides and it will simulate a horse snorting maybe....

thanks for the advice though....

yea, they could be better...

Yours doesnt look believable because...

Theres no blue tint to the purge, you use harsh straight edge lines and yo9ur base of the purge is too wide on yours. Fix all those, and you might have a decent photoshop.

If you wana take a shortcut.. simply use the selection tool, and cut out a REAL purge and merge in onto your cars photo. Use that Black Cobra's purge, for example.

welcome Babyduck...i see you are relatively new to the boards. Thats the kind of stuff i was expecting to get regarding the photoshop....since i let everyone know i was a rookie.

I will try using that cobra's pic and see what i can come up with....

u think the idea is good though?

a nitrous setup is cheap. get a real setup, purge and then do a burnout.
with all of the hours spent trying to duplicate in photoshop what it looks like, you could have installed a nitrous express kit already!

no offense, but it looks like a white laser beam coming out of the hood with someone blowing weed smoke standing nearby by the back of the car.

I see A LOT of confusion with this thread.......Man im NOT trying to make a picture of my car purging and doing a burnout.

I wanted to see what the purge would look like because im trying to figure out where to mount it at. For cryin out loud why else do people ask for photoshops? to have pictures to show off? or to get an idea of what something will look like?

absolutely ridiculous........

EDIT: FYI, my Zex kit got shipped today....so you will see real pics very soon....

the "confusion" came about because you did not say this at first. if you said "i'm using photoshop to decide where i'll mount my purge setup..." then you probably would not have been hassled. but since you were vague and tried to get all fancy with a fake burnout and such, people gave you a hard time.

it would probably take less time to actually move the purge setup to different areas on the car than to try and do a mock-up in photoshop. spending coutless hours with a photo editing program seems pointless if you have the zex setup in your hands. i guess maybe i'm more of a hands-on type of guy.

good luck with whatever it was you were trying to do. make sure to post some zex install pics and a few vids of your nitrous passes.

hands on...hmmm product must be in hand to do that RIGHT? Guess what....UPS has my product like i said. Im bored now so why not make a picture? And a fancy picture? How do people get good at things? Practice RIGHT? So i threw a burnout in their just to have some fun like i stated. CLEARY its not supposed to be real unless there is a ghost in the drivers seat....

I guess you just gotta be extremly clear as day. But based off what i said, i cant see how you wouldnlt see that i just wanted to see what it looks like in my scoop. (My bad for not mentioning me getting a real kit...)
i may be lost or just stupid or something....but how else would you decide to place your purge? People want new wheels? they photoshop them on. Paint job? they photoshop them on. Its like what was photoshop made for and what do most people on this board use it for?
I thought it was for you to have an idea....put it on your screen and see how it looks. (regardless of the quality)

You had just made it seem like i was doing it to be RICE and to show if off trying to tell people i had nitrous and that i could do a burnout....

By the way...i will definately post thoughts and opinions on the zex kit.

Lets just stop this thread...its getting off track. You guys will see what it looks like when it gets done....

using photoshop to try out different wheels is fine. nobody wants to buy 5 different sets of wheels to see which looks better.
but in regards to the purge setup, you are going to have the zex kit in a couple days. drawing little pictures of white laser beams coming out of your hood scoop won't help you decide where to mount the purge setup.
