Alright i hope this helps all of you who are trying to decide on whether buy one of these.

i didn't loose any power up top but i did loose a consistant 3-8 RWHP from 2k up to 5700 Power did increase from 6400 to 6800 but +3-5

I lost 4 TQ at peak and a 4-9 RWTQ from 2K to 6800

My A/F stayed pretty good

My car now hitches at 2k in each gear and has backfired a few times as well

In short i am pretty pissed about it

laters

Ive always figured this mod is pointless. The upper chamber is just a sub-plenum that buffers reversion. A side effect is that it buffers pulses before they can reach the MAF.

last time i checked the MAF comes way before the intake spacer and plenum

A wave that reaches the upper plenum, will reach the MAF. Mach 1's have a little box on their intake tube that they all call a "silencer". They dont know wtf they're talking about. Its an external plenum that absorbs reversion pulses so they cant disturb MAF readings. Subaru and many other car companies use this type of device for that very reason.

I guess I told ya so. This and the throttle body mod seem to pop up in the forums every few months with the same results. I remember the first time someone debunked this with dyno numbers was a few years back on the corral.

Thats pretty strange, I noticed a low end torque increase with mine and did not feel any power loss. I never had a dyno tune done to the car till after it was already on so I have no numbers of my own. I have seen numbers of it on the Mach1 forums and they picked up torque and a little bit of horsepower.
The whole reason behind the spacer adding power was that it improved the air flow to the front and rear intake runners.

Is the 96 4v intake a tumble port like the 99+? I thought they were pretty drastically different.
(edit) ah I see you do have a 99 intake.
