So I have a pair of PI cams here that I am going to throw in a 95 Cougar. They are used, but in spectacular shape. They came out of a 2001 'Stang, and have the pressed on gears. I thought the cam gears were supposed to have the big holes in one of them? Both gears are solid, with the exception of two small holes near the center on either side of the cam hole. My question is, since neither of these are labeled, which cam goes on what side? The guy scratched an R into one of the gear faces, which makes me assume that that is the right cam, but I would like to be more sure. The part number on that cam is XL3E 5C255 A8C with the number 0106017 under it. The other cam is XL3E 6251 A8C with the number 0802731 under that. Now, is this Right meaning the driver's side cam? That would be my assumption.
If anyone else might know the answer to this one, it'd be appreciated. I suspect Gearbanger might know something, since he's souping up a cougar as well
Also, if anyone has any tips on how to get this PI intake in, that'd be helpful too. I've got an EGR delete in place, but have no idea what fuel rail I need to look for to get this hooked up. The car has a return fuel system, and all of the rails I have found that fit on the PI intake are returnless.
Hell, while I am asking 20 questions, are there any good writeups on an IRS center section removal? I have a nice rebuilt diff here with 4.10s on it waiting to go in, but have never messed with IRS before. Thanks :SNSign:
