Yes, they will go right in without any problems. I suggest that he put a PI intake on there, too, to help those cams breathe. Your buddy can find a ton of info at TCCoA.com (T-Bird and Cougar Club of America) for his 'Bird, too.

What year t-bird? 95 and earlier have pre-NPI heads which are different from NPI & PI heads. PI cams or other aftermarket cams won't work unless the heads are changed too. Same goes for crown vics and other pre-1996 4.6L modulars.
They'll drop right in 96 & 97 birds, no problem.
