pi headswap problem

I bought some used p&p heads from friend. I put it all on, car starts and runs ok.
so heres my problem. car sounds like a freakin diesal truck. friend i bought the heads off of says that the lifters might not be pumped up. has anyone had this problem after doing the swap? anyone ? i need help quick car sounds like 'Kiss Me''Kiss Me''Kiss Me''Kiss Me'. :bang:

hum

Usually when you hear that noise tis a detonation problem which means your timing is off or your having a fuel problem.I know caud my grandpa his truck did the same thing and so we checked the timing and it was off and when it was reset it was fine, no more deisel sound.

The problem is that you probably didn't lube your cams enough during the install. If you didn't oil up the cams and valvetrain before reassembling your engine, that would be the definite cause of your car sounding like a diesal. I know you already completed the install, but these sites were very helpful for me when I did my swap. Good luck!!
