Just finished up a PI intake install. I wanted to say thanks to D98GT for the help. Its always nice having a nice guy give you some pointers and help.

The install was fairly difficult. I was on the 4th floor of my apartement, with little tools as Maddox can verify. No power outlits, limited lighting in the day or night because of a ceiling above me. No power tools, and worst of all, I didnt read any instructions, again where Maddox helped.

I broke a thermostat sensor, a few of the red vacuum lines and Im sure some other parts. The worst part was not reading the instructions. After I finished I did read them and it would have saved myself a lot of trouble and altering stock good parts.

I didnt remove the stock water pump and nipple, therefore I had to cut the the new PI coolant tube and fabricate my own tube to connect to the NPI coolant nipple. Same with the red vacuum lines, which I broke.

I havent picked up any real power bc the fan is always running without the 2nd sensor being tapped. Im going to get that taken car of soon, as well as a small vacuum leak that is still keeping the idle high.

8's NA with stock 2.73 gears, heads, cams, headers coming soon!

Which vacuum hose are you having problems with? I'm still impressed you managed to fit your hand in there to remove that bolt

You figure out the routing of those red lines yet?

After you hit the 8s at HMP--we'll have to put it on the rollers and see what it manages.

Where did you decide to do the extra sensor? Seeing you actually tackle the install is making me want to start on mine. I've already accomplished my "goal" for the stock NPI cam/intake so why not slap on the pi intake and the cams

I want you to get all hoses/sensors correct to get your impression of the mod. I'd like to also make sure that the RTV is doing it's job so I can use the same method you did

I found all the connections for the last two hoses. Even during the day, it was hard to see in the garage with limited lighting. I limped the car next door to the gas station today, found the remaning connections, and its gravy.

The extra sensor will go right next to the thermostat housing. I did it there on my last pi swaps and it worked great.

The rtv will be fine.

You should see a gain for such an easy upgrade...bet you wished you would have read the directions first. .

I gained 2 tenths at the track in the quarter but it was also running a bit rich.
