Ok well, the car is back together and overall the intal was pretty painless and had no problems. The only thing that happened was that wen i pulled the old manifold a little coolant must have dripped into the #4 spark plug hole. I changed all the plugs this morning before putting the new manifold on, and noticed that 34 was a little wet with coolant. It was too late by now because it had already gone into the chamber. Well i finished the install and about 4 hours after this i was done with everything and cranked the car.

The first 3 cyls fired right up, but the 4th didnt, so the engine didnt start the first time. I turned the key again and it fired right up the second time. It ran realy rough for about 4 revolutions and then smoothed out and kept getting smoother until it was running normal. However it still smoked white out of the exhaust. I only let it run for a few minutes i didnt want to let it run too long because i was afraid that the RTV on the intake manifold hadnt cured yet and didnt want to cause a leak. By the time i shut it down it wasnt smoking at idle, but if i openned the throttle, it still smoked.

Do you think this little bit of coolant did any damage? I think it will just burn off when i let the engine run up to temp. To morrow ill try again and let the engine run for a while and depending on if any other problem arise take it for a drive. I didnt get any CEL so its not causing it to miss. What do you guys think?

No doubt go for it! It seems a little intimidating, but if you get a good shop manual, its just a matter of following direction. If i was going to do it again i would use the plates and not take my chances with the RTV its worth the extra $100. Ill put up pics tomorrow and a list of every part i used on my other post. Take your time, label everything and read as much on it as you can so you dont make any mistakes that other people have made (example...my little sparkplug issue)

I just finished the swap with those plates...check this thread here for more info.

Airwolf...I experienced the same thing as you did. My car ran a little rough initially and threw a #2 cylinder misfire code. I reset it and took it for a spin. Had some white smoke when I revved it but it soon went away.

The coolent in the spark plug well wont hurt anything. Was the plug in place when you spilled the coolent into it?
