I have installed the old (NPI motor) water pump, and it seems fine, although I havent fired the motor up yet,but im wondering if there will be any problems(leaks) with the old pump mating up with the nipple in the PI motors block.

are there any small o rings inside of the nipple that I should have changed?

Did you keep the heater return line from the new PI (including the heater return hard line through the engine valley)?

If so, there are two O-rings between the heater hard line and the water pump nipple. They are an odd size and in my case, bought directly from Ford (and stupid $$ for just a plain looking O-rings).

If you mind set is to put it together and never take apart again, replace the O-rings as there will never be an easier time to do the work.

If you don't mind removing the intake manifold if it were to leak in the future, leave it alone.
